Hello everyone! It has been a long time since I have written here. Thats something I’d like to change, its a goal this year to blog more often and more consistently. I think a good way to start would be to give an update on what I’ve been up to. There’s been a lot of textile design going on in my life at the moment. The number of listings in my Etsy store has been growing wonderfully. Right now its a goal to add more of these products to this site....

Earlier in the week I was contacted on my Instagram Account by an account called madeinmeeka. They told me that they were a group working with locals to create community opportunities. They were asking for support in continuing a program so that their remote area artists can continue to make art and share their culture. I had to say I was intrigued. I went to check them out and saw their campaign and I have to say, I liked what I saw. Seriously. Check It Out. Linking again...

That post helps show elements that inform the creation of a single piece in a series – and today its time to dig into that single painting – the yellow and purple lavender image displayed at the top of this post. So this...
Read MoreThe artistic process – Part One – On creating a body of work.
I’m going to attempt to show some of the process of creation. Its pretty difficult inherently to show everything about how a single piece is made, all the things in the background that exist before the current image can be created – but I thought it would be nice to give an attempt at illustrating what I can. This started off as one post about my lavender imagery but even getting into explaining the background of it was turning into a hefty chunk of information...
